Pressing my luck

You may not know this about the General, but for some reason, people like to give him stuff. I have witnessed it with my own eyes where some perfect stranger comes up and gives him a pair of shoes or an extra hush puppy (usually at the Captain D's drive thru). Most of the time, I rejoice with him when he shows me his latest gift, but every once in a while I think, "When will I be so lucky?". O.K...There was that time in Myrtle Beach. We went on vacation with our "practically family" friends, the Justices, to a time-share in Myrtle Beach in March. For some reason, in March, many senior citizens decide to go to Myrtle Beach. So the place was hopping and David and I jumped right in. We played shuffleboard with Ken and Kay from Canada. We played Bingo. We played in the Ping Pong Tournament where I witnessed David slam the ping pong ball on an eighty year old woman. It was quite a moment. One night we were at one of the social functions, and they were giving away door prizes. After about four prizes were given away, and I didn't win a one of them, they held up a bright pink beach towel...extra long beach towel...BOY, DID I COVET THAT BEACH TOWEL! They called the first number....it was a match...the second matched...the third matched....the fourth matched...and just to end the suspense, I'll just tell you...I WON THE PINK BEACH TOWEL! I WON THE PINK BEACH TOWEL....but, after losing prize number four, I had resigned myself to the Loser's Hall of Fame and given my ticket to David, who when the number matched, jumped up and down and ran to the stage, grabbed my pink beach towel and waved it in the air like it was the greatest prize he had ever won. Thankfully, because the towel was, you know, hot pink, David gave it to me. But this story just goes to show you I am not the luckiest gambler at the table, but, I ain't afraid of no whammy, so I'm going to Press My Luck!.....No whammies, no whammies, no whammies (Sorry, sometimes I just have to reference game shows of the eighties). At Rocks in My Dryer, she is giving away a substantial CD collection, but in order to enter the giveaway, you must post a link to the WOW website. So here is the link:

I can truthfully say that I have a few of their compilations in my collection...and hopefully, if I can somehow channel some of David's luck, my collection will be growing.

I like you I never win anything either. But I've certainly tried. I am trying right now to win a Wii. So glad you won the pink beach towel that is so cool when you win :)
